Light Appears at the End of the Zenica Tunnel, 04.11.2021
Both sides of the Zenica tunnel, (Ponirak - Vraca section), which is located on the Corridor Vc highway within the borders of the State of Bosnia and Herzegovina and currently the longest tunnel on the relevant highway with its 3360m length, whose construction supervision consultancy services are carried out by PROYAPI Mühendislik ve Müşavirlik AŞ has been successfully reunited.

The right tubes of the Zenica tunnel, located in the Ponirak - Vraca section of the Trans-European Highway, along Corridor-Vc passing through Bosnia and Herzegovina, and consisting of two separate tubes, each approximately 3360m long and with two lanes, were successfully reunited on 04/11/2021.The project, implemented by JP Autoceste, the company responsible for the highway construction and operation of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, is financed by the European Investment Bank (EIB), and construction supervision consultancy services are carried out by PROYAPI Mühendislik ve Müşavirlik AŞ. It has been a source of pride for both the contractor and our consultancy organization that the tunnels opened within the framework of the work program planned with the principle of 7/24 by taking high-level health and safety measures during the pandemic period, which is effective throughout the world.
The merging of the tunnels was celebrated within the framework of an event attended by investor firm JP Autoceste, consultant PROYAPI and contractor Euro-Asfalt. This event was a separate success for all those who have worked devoted despite the many difficulties they have faced in building this tunnel in recent months. With a length of 3.36km, this tunnel is currently the longest excavated on Corridor Vc, Highway in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The construction of the Ponirak - Vraca highway section, which started on October 29, 2019, is planned to be completed in May-2022.

A very high quality job has been done in the Zenica tunnel. Our experts working in many tunnels and highways in Turkey have transferred their knowledge and experience in this field to this project.We can see that the progress of the project was made on time and within the budget as planned in accordance with the design and the contract. The important thing is that all stakeholders work together for a goal. As the control organization, we insisted on discipline and were always at the service of our stakeholders. Teamwork, discipline and harmony are important in this project. All the stakeholders worked together and we achieved success together, Mr. Ünal concluded.
No serious work accident or material damage has been recorded so far during the execution of the works.Considering the length, complexity and construction difficulties of the tunnel, this is a significant achievement for all participants in the tunnel's construction.
